  •  Keith Knott Nottingham's Teacher of the Year

“The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called “truth.”

     ~Dan Rather

     Keith Knott

Congratulations to our top Bulldog, Mr. Knott! We trust you will savor this selection as Nottingham’s Teacher of the Year. Nottingham is known as a community of learners and we all hold high expectations for our learners. Your Bulldog friends immediately learn the “Bulldog Bark”, a kinesthetic snapshot to expectations within the Bulldog classroom.

They hear early and often that, “A is for Attitude we use at school!”  Your outstanding command of the curriculum, combined with your evident love and passion for children truly makes you an exemplary educator. We are proud to call you our “Teacher of the Year!”
    ~ Mary Beth Pelosky
                         Principal, Nottingham

Members of Nottingham’s very active 5th grade Planet Partners group developed a video for submission to the International Reflections contest in the ages 10-12 category. This contest was sponsored by the Earth Charter’s Initiative, www.earthcharters.org.  Principal Pelosky visited the University for Peace in Costa Rica to learn more about the tenets of the initiative, especially the Earth Scouts program. We are proud of our Knights for their efforts to be good stewards of the Earth!

  • APS would like to clarify that Wed, Sept. 7 and Wed, Nov. 9 are not early release days at your child's elementary school. On those days, school will dismiss at the normal time and the Extended Day program will operate on its normal schedule.

  • Planet Partners Oath
I take pride in being a member of Planet Partners. I will attend Planet Partner meetings.
I will participate in at least one park clean-up, adopt-a-street cleaning, or invasive ivy pull a year.
I promise to use less energy by turning off lights and appliances, and by encouraging the use of energy-saving light bulbs.
I will use fewer resources by taking part in Trash-free Tuesday and by recycling at home and at school.
I will learn new green facts and help the Nottingham Community of Learners become more aware of our effect on the local and global environment.
