8th Grade Geography - Be the Change Project to support their study of Economic Geography. Students had to create a canister that highlighted the demographics of a developing country. Students had to use their knowledge of demographics to figure out the level of development of their chosen country. If the country's GDP per capita was under 5,000, they could highlight that country on their canister. Example of countries include Haiti, Cambodia, Sudan, Togo, Ethiopia, Mozambique. Students took the canisters home and raised as much money as possible to donate to Heifer International. This year's 8th graders raised over $2,000 for Heifer. This money will purchase animals for towns in developing countries.
